The 6th Annual North Alabama Cyber Security Summit is happening next week and we are extremely excited to once again be a part of such a great event. It has been an interesting six years watching this annual event grow from just under 100 people in attendance to over 650 expected to attend this year.
The North Alabama region is full of super talented cyber security engineers doing great things. Every year we meet new folks doing exciting new things in cyber security, so if you have anything to do with cyber security or if you’re just curious about what cyber security is we would highly recommend attending. There is something for everyone no matter if you are super technical or just getting started.
This year I am changing it up a little and instead of demonstrating some offensive security techniques or hacking demonstrations I plan to share what we have learned from performing red team exercises, penetration tests, and vulnerability assessments over the last few years at SudoSecure. These assessments leave no one out and include organizations of all sizes operating across many verticals including education, financial, health care, retail, manufacturing, energy and utilities, and government sectors.
My goal is to provide some insight into defense techniques and strategies that are effective and actually work. Some will be simple, while others may be more complex, but the important part is these techniques and strategies have shown to work in our assessments and for the organizations we provide cyber security consulting services for.
One of the most common questions we get in providing our cyber security assessment services from our customers is what is everyone else doing and how do they compare. This presentation will provide some insight into these questions with real examples from real assessments on real organizations. This is not a theory based academic research presentation, but one focused on real world operations!
Additionally, I will be participating on the Effective Mobile Device Security panel with some other super smart and elite mobile security experts. This is a great opportunity for anyone that has questions or is looking for some advice in securing mobile devices or mobile environments. I encourage you to come and ask your questions, as the best panel discussions are the ones that get the tough questions from the audience.
We can’t tell you enough how much we love this event and the positive impacts this event has had on the North Alabama region and Huntsville specifically. We hope to see you there and encourage you to come introduce yourself to the SudoSecure crew at our booth in the exhibitor hall! See you there and if you haven’t registered, go do that now: 6th Annual North Alabama Cyber Security Summit Registration.
